Join us for the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz Summer Intensive at The New School.

We are pleased to announce that Registration is now open for the 2026 Summer Intensive Workshops.

• Advance Registration rate for the full week will be $200 through June 15.
• Starting June 16, the Last Chance Registration rate for the full week will be $250.

Please note that registration will be limited, so we encourage you to register early to reserve your place.

Workshop sessions will be held at Arnie Lawrence Hall (55 W 13th St, NY) as well as in Room 624 of the same facility.

2025 Workshop facilitators included top flight musicians & educators like:

David Glasser, Howard Rees, Philip Bingham, Richard Clements, Michael Weiss,
Steve Ash, James Austin Jr., André “Chez” Lewis, Isaac Raz, Katie Cosco

Expect harmony masterclasses, improvisation workshops, singer sessions, and a final concert at Ernst C. Stiefel Hall on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM. In addition to the workshop programming, practice and rehearsal rooms on the premises will be available to participants from 8a to 6p each day. There are also opportunities for private or semi-private instruction from instructors (interested participants can reach out directly to the instructor with whom they wish to arrange a lesson). The Barry Harris Summer Intensive is organized by the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz in collaboration with The New School. This is a must attend event for jazz students, educators, professionals, enthusiasts, and anyone interested in exploring Barry Harris’ unique pedagogical ideas!
