The Barry Harris Institute of Jazz (“BHIJ”) was formed for the purpose of protecting, preserving, and promulgating the musical compositions, teachings, and musical legacy of Barry Harris.

BHIJ has launched a number of initiatives aimed at these objectives. BHIJ is planning a memorial celebration and concert in Barry’s honor this year.

BHIJ is also working to collect and archive the music and music related artifacts Barry left behind. Other initiatives surrounding Barry’s music and teaching methods are in the works.
