Rutgers University and Express Newark proudly announce a collaboration with the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz to offer a series of piano/harmony workshops based on Barry Harris’ unique pedagogical insights. Barry Harris is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest jazz educators of all time. Barry’s approach to jazz harmony, and in particular his methodology concerning chord movement, has inspired thousands of musicians all over the world. We are pleased to officially offer the Barry Harris Harmony Workshops for the NJ/NY jazz community.

The Barry Harris Harmony Workshops in 2026 will convene at Express Newark in the Harmony Lab on the following Monday evenings at 7:00 pm: January 12th, January 26th, February 9th, February 23rd, March 9th, March 23rd, April 6th, & April 20th.

Attendees must register via the Eventbrite.

Admission is free, however, donations to the Barry Harris Institute of Jazz are strongly encouraged.
